This American film and television actor, spent almost all his early childhood on boats with his parents, before his family settled in a suburb in Los Angeles. It was then that he started going to school and attended most of his junior and high school there. Later on he moved to Denver, where he earned a basketball scholarship but soon afterwards started losing interest in basketball. He then focused his attention towards acting and joined his father’s acting school. Soon afterwards he managed to get himself the role of Van in the hit sitcom, ‘Reba‘. He was a part of the series, throughout the time it was on air.

In the series, he plays Van, who is a part of his school’s football team and is thrown out of his parents place after he decides to marry his seventeen year old pregnant girlfriend. His character is generally portrayed as a big goof and is not good with words, especially when it comes to Cheyenne. This was also his first series, where he managed to get a starring role. Apart from this he has done a number of guest appearances in some hit shows like ‘ER’, ‘The Drew Carey Show’, ‘Any Day Now’ and ‘Twins.’

As far as his film career is concerned he starred and produced the movie ‘Class’, which was written and directed by his father. He was also a part of movies like ‘Supercross’ and ‘DOA: Dead or Alive’. Steve is currently busy with his upcoming film ‘Bride wars’ with Anne Hathaway and Kate Hudson. He also has a role in upcoming movie ‘Stan Helsing’.

Coming to his personal life the actor currently lives in Los Angeles. Howey is currently engaged to actress Sarah Shahi. We have seen her on shows like ‘The L Word’ and ‘Life’.
