From this veiwership figure you all can easily conclude how huge this show’s popularity was. But then also the show ended.

Even though the rumors keep making rounds that the show might come back with another season. But the fans finally gave up hope when it was revealed that Garcia and Howey had signed new shows on CBS and FOX respectively.

I was a huge fan of the series and actually I still miss the series. The series was cancelled almost two years back, with a beautiful ending. I just loved the way the creators decided to end the series with all conflicts coming to an end. The series ended with Van and Cheyenne moving to their own place, with their second child. Kyra deciding to go ahead with her music career; Brock and Barbara, despite all decide to give their relationship another chance. And above all Reba once again confesses that she has found an intimate friend in Barbra and thanks Barbara for her friendship. So, all’s well that ends well.

Now this is the series that became an instant hit and was loved by all, but still was not able to get much appreciation from the critics. Critics gave a mixed response to the series. When reviews for Reba came out critics were not much satisfied with the series. Entertainment Weekly gave the show a grade of “C-,” saying that “only (Reba) McEntire… avoids looking furtively desperate in this seamy enterprise”. Michael Abernethy of PopMatters was more forgiving in his review, calling the show “generally humorous, although far from perfect”, and praising how the series “caters to its star’s abilities and image” and “spreads the jokes and storylines equally among all its cast members”.

But anyways despite negative views from the critics the series was loved by general audiences and that is what matters at the end of the day. Reba tv show is one of my favorite series and I am sure it is favorite of million of others too. I like this series for many different reasons and the top most amongst them is Reba. I just love the way her character is portrayed by the creators of the series. Other reasons that I like the series is because it is extremely funny and whatsoever happen, there was lot of love and understanding in relationships that these characters shared with each other. And, I guess all these reasons contribute to the success of the series.

But my favorite character out of all is the central character of the series, Reba. Reba is a single mother to her three children. When the series opens, we see that she is devastated by the condition life has put her in, as her husband decides to leave her for a much younger woman. Now that she is not yet out of her divorce, she is shocked by the news that her seventeen year old daughter is pregnant by her boyfriend and they both intend to marry each other and keep the baby.

Reba then decides to stand by her daughter in whatever decision she takes. Not only that, through out the series we see her supporting all her three children in the best way possible. It was not that her character was the godly one, who never committed mistake or never got angry, but then she always learnt from her mistakes and decided to move on in life.

She is very much hurt when her middle child Kyra decides to move out, but then she lets her live life the way she thought is better for her. It is all these attributes of her characters that make her character close to life and the one to which we can relate to very easily.
